Bhangarh (Rajasthan)
Bhangarh is a place that is situated in Rajasthan state of India and was built in 17 century by Raja Madho Singh .Bhangarh at that time had a population of 10000 .But now nobody lives in this beautiful city of temples, havelis and mosques .
It is said that in this town lived a tantric named Singhia who fell in love with the princess named Ratnawati .In order to win her over he cast a spell on the oil the princesses maid had bought for her .If his plan worked the princess would come to him .The princess who herself was proficient in black magic sensed his plan and foiled it . She threw away the oil and it fell on a stone .The stone then started moving towards the tantric and crushed him .Before dying Singhia cursed the place that all residents will die and not even get a rebirth .
Bangarh is considerd to be one of the most haunted places in India and even locals don’t venture there after sunset because they believe that the trapped souls of the people who died still stay there trying to get redemption from the curse .ASI has displayed a signboard which says “Entering the borders of Bhangarh after sunset is strictly prohibited".
